To prevent wizards from using magic, special collars are put on them. On the island, each mage is subjected to the process of extracting the Origin, but it has the negative effect of completely erasing his identity (thus the Silent Monks appear).

In the beginning, the player must create his own hero by selecting his gender, race (human, elf or dwarf), and class (warrior, mage or brigand); the player can customize the appearance of the hero as he sees fit. The combination of race and class determines which of the six possible backstories will be used at the start of the game. Heroes with different backstories start the game in different locations, and later non-playable characters react differently to heroes with different backstories. As you gain experience points, the level of the hero increases, and his characteristics increase; at the seventh and also at the fourteenth level you can choose one of four specializations to choose from – with it you can get additional abilities.

At one point, they are contacted by a certain Patriarch who calls himself the ruler of Colorado and offers them serious material support in exchange for help. The Rangers, having no other options, agree and send a convoy to Colorado, but it is ambushed, during which virtually all but a couple of the Rangers die or go missing. The survivors contact the Patriarch, who gives them an old military base as compensation and instructs them to find his three children, Valor, Victor, and Liberty.
