Strider

  • Features: Platformer, Metroidvania, Action, Ninja, Side Scroller, Hack and Slash
  • Steam Page

Kazakh City is a huge urban complex consisting of quite a number of areas: suburbs, a government quarter, underground, a military facility, a research laboratory, a production line, and, naturally, a tower where Meio – the sorcerer and dictator – resides. He is the ultimate target of our combat adventure as a Special Forces fighter.

Strider’s gameplay remains classic – it’s a two-dimensional dynamic, mostly hand-to-hand platformer where we control our character, wield a sword and kunai (ninja throwing knives, not to be confused with shurikens), and possess three abilities left from the original game, here called “Options”. Option A is a pair of small drones spinning around Hiryu like two moons and can both shoot at enemies and deflect their missile attacks. Option B is a ghostly panther that bursts through enemies and tears them to pieces with its claws. It is a useful critter for destroying several enemies standing behind each other, especially if there are fighters with shields among them. And Option C is a fire eagle hitting everyone who gets in its way in a small arc. It is a great way to fight against aerial opponents.

Gothic iI

  • Steam Page

Gothic II is the second adventure CRPG in the Gothic series. It was released on November 29, 2002.

Gothic II is set about three weeks after the events of the original game. The main action unfolds on the island of Khorinis located in the sea near the kingdom of Myrtana. The main island’s settlement is a port city of the same name, which is temporarily governed by the head of paladins – Lord Hagen. The island of Khorinis is known primarily for its Mining Valley – Minenthal – where all the events of the first part unfolded. For many years, a self-sustaining magical barrier has been stretched over the entire valley, and all prisoners of the kingdom were sent there. Thus, the valley became a dead-end colony for many of the condemned. On the island, there are also several small farmsteads where the soil is cultivated to grow grains and vegetables and raise livestock. For many years, the largest yard has belonged to landlord Onar, who rents out nearby land to other peasants.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

  • Features: Open World, Action, Fantasy, Adventure, Third Person, Stealth
  • Steam Page

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a multiplatform Action/RPG computer game developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game was released for Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 30, 2014, and was not released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 until November 18, 2014.

The game’s protagonist is Talion, whose family was murdered and who then was sacrificed by Sauron’s minions to summon the spirit of Celebrimbor, the creator of the Rings of Power, from the ghost world. However, thanks to the elf’s spirit, Talion was resurrected, gained special abilities, and is now on his way to Mordor. The story is not canon to The Lord of the Rings but shares common points with Tolkien’s original works. Thus, the player meets Gollum, who, as it turns out later, has a lot in common with the main character, including a split personality and a connection to the spirit world.

Dante and Nero are back as playable characters. There will be three characters in total, with individual combat styles used in destructible environments. The gameplay itself has undergone few changes compared to the previous games in the series – like before, the player just has to quickly and “stylishly” deal with enemies. Fighting is carried out with a varied set of melee and ranged weapons, due to which the player gets a certain “style level”, which depends on many factors, such as the variety of techniques used, the length of the blow combination or evading attacks. The music will also depend on the player’s effectiveness in combat.
