So, buckle up and get ready to blast off into the unknown with these amazing games.
Starfield
Starfield is an open-world computer role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is scheduled for release on Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S platforms in the first half of 2023.
The developers describe Starfield as “closer to a ‘hardcore RPG’ than the studio’s past releases.” Several systems are responsible for character traits, among them a player-selectable protagonist backstory. As in past games of the studio, the player has the ability to switch between first- and third-person modes. As in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, players can go through the storyline quickly, and can spend a long time exploring different locations and side quests.
No man’s sky
No Man’s Sky is an open-world space action-adventure computer game with survival elements, developed and released by British indie studio Hello Games for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in 2016. The game was also ported to Xbox One in 2018, to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2020, and will be ported to macOS, iPadOS and Nintendo Switch in 2022.
The game invites the player to explore an extremely large virtual universe of 264, or 18 quintillion planets; possible activities for the game’s characters include finding new and interesting places, surviving amid various dangers, battling enemies and trading various items. The game makes extensive use of procedural content generation based on deterministic algorithms to create the virtual world. The overall graphic style of the game is inspired by illustrations from the covers of various sci-fi books, and many developers were also influenced by works related to the demoscene.
Freelancer
Freelancer is a computer game in the space simulation genre, developed by the American studio Digital Anvil and released by Microsoft Game Studios for Microsoft Windows in 2003.
The player takes on the role of the pilot of a single-seater spaceship; this ship can fly between different space stations and planets, carry cargo and engage in combat with other ships. At the beginning of the game, only a small spaceship and only a one-star system are available to the player; as the game progresses, the player explores the world the game, discovering new systems and new adventures. Each star system offers the player different ways to earn money, whether it be by transporting goods, trading, or hunting criminals, for which the authorities pay rewards. The player must accumulate virtual money to buy better weapons and equipment to improve his ship.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-adventure computer game in the open world, developed and published by the Polish studio CD Projekt.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person game. The player controls a fully customizable character named Vee. The HUD values vary depending on which skills the player wants to focus on: hacking, technical abilities or combat. To install implants and upgrade V’s software, you have to go to a “reaper”; at the same time, the black markets offer abilities that, by the laws of the game universe, are only available to the military. The rarity of any equipment is shown by the corresponding color of its icons. Vee can hide behind obstacles, shoot, run, jump, double jump, and glide.
Elite dangerous odyssey
An important feature of Odyssey is the addition of the ability to explore planets on foot, called space legs. Not only is this allowed on all non-atmospheric planets available for landing, but Odyssey also makes planets with thin or thin atmospheres available for landing for the first time, increasing the number of available bodies in the game by more than 20%. Foot action requires a jumpsuit to protect the player from the hostile environment, but some planets are so inhospitable that players cannot disembark from their ships even if their ships can make a landing.
To disembark a ship on foot, the player must first land the ship on the surface of a body (planet or moon). The planet’s gravity is also a factor during hikes and can affect the player’s movement, jumping and throwing grenades.
Space engineers
Space Engineers is a voxel-based sandbox game about building and maintaining space structures. The game became available on Steam Early Access on October 23, 2013.
The gameplay is based on building spaceships, stations, and exploring planets and asteroids to find resources. When creating or editing a world, several advanced options are available to change how the player will interact with the world. Two block sizes are available: small and large. Depending on the selected size, either small ships or large ships are created. Any structure has the ability to convert to static (station) or moving (ship). Blocks of a static structure can intersect with the voxels of a planet or an asteroid. Conversion may not be available if it is disabled in the world settings or its blocks intersect with voxels.
